A couple of my friends joined Japanese language classes in Delhi NCR and they are now working as interpreters and translators. They work at their convenience and are getting a good salary. In fact, one of them is always engaged in simultaneous interpretation, which is used for meetings, conferences, speeches etc. The others are involved in consecutive interpreting and liaison interpreting. And this is not only in my friend circle that I can see the growth and scope of foreign languages but we all can witness the same in today’s times. In governmental work, apart from French, German, Spanish, Japanese etc., even smaller languages like Pashpio, Uzbek, Tajiks, Hebrew and Portuguese have a huge demand. And sometimes, it gets really difficult to find experts in the lesser known languages.
In recent years, we have seen a
tremendous demand for Spanish, Japanese and Korean language experts because of
the globalisation of economy, Aspirants can take up beginner, diploma and
advanced level course, depending upon their aptitude and attitude. For example,
there are some certificate courses in Japanese that are aimed for the
beginners. After the successful completion of such courses, studentsare able to
engage in simple conversation in Japanese language. They also gain reading and
writing ability to a limited extent. As language is an important part of any
culture, so during the teaching of this course various cultural aspects of
Japan are also taught. Further, such classes also include learning Japanese
characters (Hiragana & Katakana) with some kanjis. Institutes that conduct
such foreign language classes make use audio visual methods in their smart
classes where students listen to audio clips and get chance to see video clips to
get a stronger grasp of the language. Communicative language teaching methods
are used to groom students so that they feel full of confidence whenever they
are put in the practical situations.
